What to consider while growing Hass avocado

When your Hass avocado tree is newly planted. It will need to be watered every 2-3days or advised by our agronomist. Before watering always make sure the soil is not already very moist to avoid root rot. As the tree gets older, you can reduce watering to once a week in well drained soils

Hass avocado can exploit a variety of climate conditions however for better yields full sun’s light is essential for its better growth thus tropical climate. The more light hitting the canopy, the better they will do.

Mulching around the trees may be needed to prevent drying out of the soil and will keep the root system cool and active.

Supporting the plant.

Use 1.8 metres to 2.0 metres poles for this purpose.

You may not need to fertilize your newly planted trees, however for soils considered much less fertile; our company agronomist will advise you on the best fertilizer application

Hass avocado trees do not require much pruning but you may want to prune in order to remove broken or damaged limbs, maintain the tree’s height or retain its shape

Ntandix is an organic company based in Uganda, East Africa that is helping farmers adopt growing and marketing of Hass avocado through giving all support to farmers.
